Project-scoped assignments

Every contributor is assigned to a specific project with its own scope, unit of production, and quality standards. Nothing is open-ended.

Technical screening first

Before personal details are collected, applicants complete a project-specific technical qualification. A short qualification clip (under 15 seconds) is automatically validated before any human reviews it.

Two-tier review

All submissions pass through Tier 1 (recording validity + clip editing) and Tier 2 (content integrity + duplicate detection). Payment only releases after both tiers approve.

Dataset-level integrity

QC operates at the dataset level, not per file. Duplicate detection, behavioral monitoring, and an explicit fraud policy protect data quality at scale.

Task diversity — required environment coverage

Operator-collectors must be able to perform natural, task-based activities across a minimum of 4 distinct task categories from the list below. Operators covering more categories are prioritised. No single category may exceed 20% of an operator's submitted volume.

Flipside Contributor Agreement

Project Auriga · Flipside Digital Content Company, Inc.

This Contributor Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into by and between FLIPSIDE DIGITAL CONTENT COMPANY, INC., a corporation organized under Philippine law, with offices at Unit 301-304, 3F ICITE Building, Eastwood Cyberpark, Bagumbayan, Quezon City 1110, Philippines ("Flipside"); and the undersigned contributor ("Contributor").

1. Independent Participation — No Employment

Contributor participates as an independent contractor. Nothing herein creates an employment, agency, or partnership relationship with Flipside or any client platform.

2. Third-Party Facilitator Role

Flipside acts solely as a third-party facilitator for data collection programs operated by its clients (the "Program Owner").

3. Program Activities

Contributor may perform data capture tasks using approved devices and environments only.

4. Devices

Contributor may be asked to perform data capture tasks using devices that may be owned by the Program Owner. Contributor shall exercise due care and return devices as instructed. Amounts owed for lost, damaged, or unreturned devices may be offset against unpaid earnings.

5. Ownership and Assignment

All captured content ("Device Content") is irrevocably assigned to the sole and exclusive ownership of the Program Owner for worldwide, perpetual use, including artificial intelligence and machine learning training.

6. Likeness

Contributor grants perpetual rights to use their likeness captured in Device Content.

7. Compensation

Compensation is based solely on approved earnings reflected in Flipside's tracking database:

Rate: US$0.10 per minute of approved video.
Payment Method: Philippine Pesos via the Isle electronic wallet (e-wallet).
Exchange Rate: BSP reference rate prevailing on the payment cut-off date.
Cut-off Date: As designated by Flipside for the applicable payout cycle.
7.1 Invoicing: Contributor shall invoice Flipside based on approved earnings only.
7.2 Withholding Tax: Flipside shall withhold 10% Expanded Withholding Tax (EWT) as professional fees and remit to the BIR.
7.3 OR / Sworn Declaration: Each invoice must include either an Official Receipt number or a sworn declaration of below-VAT-threshold status.

8. Confidentiality

All non-public information is confidential.

9. Assumption of Risk

Contributor assumes all risks related to participation.

10. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.

I have read the complete Flipside Contributor Agreement for Project Auriga and agree to be bound by all its terms, including IP assignment, compensation, tax withholding, invoicing, and confidentiality provisions.

Program Participant Agreement

In connection with my voluntary participation in the data collection program ("Program"), I enter into this Participant Agreement on behalf of myself, my heirs, and my personal representatives.

1. Independent Participation; No Employment

My participation is entirely voluntary, opt-in, and at-will. I am not an employee, agent, partner, or representative of the Program Owner or any third party. I retain sole discretion over whether to participate and may cease at any time without penalty.

2. General

As part of the Program, I will use Capture Devices to record content related to the performance of certain tasks. The Program Owner will collect, use, and share all video, audio, and audiovisual recordings and other content captured ("Device Content"). I represent I have the right and authority to record in the Authorized Capture Environments (my personal home). I am responsible for ensuring my surroundings are appropriate and that I disable recording while in restrooms, when recording would not be appropriate, or when private materials are in view.

3. Program Facilitation Through Third Parties

Flipside Digital Content Company, Inc. acts as the third-party facilitator for this Program. The Program Owner is not responsible for providing payment to me; compensation, if applicable, is provided by Flipside and does not constitute wages or employment compensation.

4. Device Content — Ownership

The Program Owner is and will be the sole and exclusive owner in perpetuity of all right, title, and interest in and to the Device Content, including all copyrights and intellectual property rights. I hereby irrevocably assign to the Program Owner all right, title, and interest in and to all Device Content.

5. Likeness

To the extent my image and likeness are captured in Device Content, I grant to the Program Owner and its affiliates the perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, sublicensable right to use my Likeness as captured in the Device Content, including for artificial intelligence and machine learning training purposes.

6. Assumption of Risk

Using a phone head mount while performing physical household tasks creates inherent risks including visual distraction and reduced situational awareness. I voluntarily assume all such risks. I acknowledge that if medical assistance is required as a result of my participation, such assistance is at my own expense. I agree to cease use of the Capture Device immediately if I feel it compromises my safety.

7. Release

I waive any and all claims of any kind against the Program Owner, its affiliates, and their officers, directors, employees, and assigns, arising out of or attributable to my participation in the Program or the use of my Likeness.

8. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the internal laws of the State of California without giving effect to any choice or conflict of law provision.

I have read the complete Program Participant Agreement and agree to all its terms, including the irrevocable assignment of all captured Device Content to the Program Owner, the grant of Likeness rights for AI training purposes, and the assumption of all participation risks.

The text below is the complete instruction set for contributors. Copy and send via Discord or email at the start of each program.

What you are doing

You are recording video episodes for a structured data collection program. This means wearing a phone on your head using a headband mount and recording your normal daily activity. The camera runs continuously. You go about your usual routine.

This is data collection only — not annotation, not labeling, not content creation. You do not describe, tag, or evaluate anything. You record. That is the work.

Equipment required

Your smartphone — minimum 1080p at 30fps. Check your camera settings before your first episode.
A head-mounted phone strap or mount. Position the phone at forehead level, lens facing forward. Both hands must be visible in frame throughout the episode.
Adequate storage. Sessions can be large files — clear space before recording.
Stable upload access for same-day delivery of files.

Recording requirements

Mount the phone on your head before pressing record.
Record in landscape orientation at minimum 1080p / 30fps.
Set zoom to 0.5x or wider — do not use optical zoom.
Both hands must be visible in frame when working with objects.
Record the full episode duration specified in your brief without stopping.
Submit the original clip via link — no editing, no trimming, no filters. Do not revoke link access until review is complete.
Complete the upload form immediately after uploading the file.

Do not hold the phone — it must be mounted throughout the episode.
Do not stop and restart the recording mid-episode.
Do not apply stabilisation software, filters, or edits before uploading.
Do not film other people without their written consent.
Do not film children under any circumstances.
Do not upload the same episode file twice.
Do not submit downloaded, stock, or third-party footage as your own. This is a breach of your contributor agreement and will result in removal and non-payment.

After uploading

Tier 1 review (recording validity + editing): within 24 hours.
Tier 2 review (content integrity + duplicate check): within 48 hours of Tier 1 pass.
Pass: accepted minutes logged to your account. Compensation processed in the next payment cycle after ops approval.
Edited pass: Tier 1 may clip extraneous content. You are paid on accepted duration after editing, not submitted duration.
Fail: reason provided. One replacement episode may be submitted within 48 hours.
Payment is only released after both tiers pass and ops lead approves the batch.

Two-tier review system

All submissions pass through two independent review stages before acceptance. Payment is only triggered after both tiers pass and ops approves the payment batch.

Tier 1 — Technical review

Validates recording validity. Reviewer assesses format, resolution, continuity, mount stability, egocentric angle, and privacy. Reviewer may edit submissions — trimming extraneous content to produce an accepted clip. Payment is based on accepted duration after editing, not submitted duration. Original file is preserved. Edits are logged with timestamps, reviewer ID, and accepted duration.

Technical pass — flagged for integrity review

File is technically valid but has signals that require Tier 2 content and integrity review before acceptance.

Tier 2 — Content and integrity review

Operates at the dataset level, not per file. Checks for duplicate content (same material from same or different contributors), behavioral signals of non-original footage, and submission pattern anomalies. Reviewer is trained on fraud signals and has a documented escalation path.

Accepted — content and integrity confirmed

No duplicate signals, no originality concerns. Accepted minutes cleared for payment batch.

Reject

Rejected — integrity failure

Duplicate content detected or non-original material confirmed. Strike recorded. Contributor notified. Non-payment for flagged submission.

Escalate

Escalated — requires ops decision

Reviewer has concern that cannot be resolved at review level. Routed to ops lead with documented notes. Submission held until decision.

Two-step payment approval

Step 1 — QC sign-off: Both Tier 1 and Tier 2 must pass. Accepted minutes logged to contributor account.
Step 2 — Ops approval: Ops lead reviews the batch, cross-checks fraud flags, and approves payment release. Payment is not processed on QC pass alone.

Fraud policy and strike system

1st offense: Formal written warning. Strike recorded on contributor account.
2nd offense: Suspension from current project. Access to new assignments suspended pending review.
3rd offense: Account removal. Non-payment for all flagged submissions.
Reviewers must escalate — do not make removal decisions unilaterally. Every escalation requires documented notes and a named ops contact.

Purpose

Diversity is managed at the assignment level. Contributors are briefed on environment type and conditions before recording. The system tracks coverage and adjusts briefs to fill gaps. No labeling or tagging happens at the contributor level.

Conditions to diversify

Lighting: Natural daylight, artificial overhead, low-light/dim, mixed. Assign low-light sessions explicitly — do not leave to chance.
Time of day: Morning, midday, afternoon, evening. Distribute assignments across the day.
Clutter level: Sparse, moderate, dense. A cluttered kitchen is different data from a clean one — brief explicitly.
Geography: Track contributor country and region. Prioritise spread — a kitchen in Lagos is different data from Manila or Berlin.
Household type: Apartment vs. house, size, density. Captured at onboarding in contributor profile.

Tax obligations

Contributors are responsible for tax obligations in their own jurisdiction.
Senscient Labs Pte. Ltd. does not withhold tax on payments to contributors outside Singapore.
All contributors complete a tax residency self-certification at onboarding.
PH-specific documentation (BIR TIN) applies only when a project operates under Philippine compliance requirements.
Review audit, compliance, and labour regulation exposure as the program scales — flagged from Feverfew debrief.

Daily operations rhythm

Review QC queue morning and afternoon. No submission should sit in Pending for more than 24 hours.
Check contributor submission patterns for anomalies — volume spikes, timing irregularities, quality drops.
Update coverage tracking — adjust brief distribution for underrepresented environment types and conditions.
Respond to Discord / email queries within same business day.
Log all QC decisions with reviewer ID, timestamp, verdict, and reason code.
Flag any integrity concerns to ops lead immediately — do not hold.

Payment cycle

Ops lead reviews the payment batch on the 15th and last day of each month.
Cross-check all pending payouts against fraud flags and Tier 2 decisions before approving.
Approve release only after both QC tiers are complete for every submission in the batch.
Send payment confirmation to contributors within 24 hours of release.

Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the TaskAlpha™ platform ("Platform") operated by Senscient Labs Pte. Ltd. ("Senscient Labs", "we", "us", "our"), a company incorporated in Singapore. By creating an account or submitting an application you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. Definitions

"Platform" means the TaskAlpha website, applications, and associated services. "Contributor" means an individual accepted to participate in data collection projects. "Project" means a discrete data collection program hosted on the Platform with its own scope, requirements, and compensation. "Submission" means any content uploaded by a Contributor. "Flipside AI" means Flipside Digital Content Company, Inc., the operations unit engaged by Senscient Labs to manage Contributor programmes.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age.
You must be legally able to enter into binding contracts in your jurisdiction.
You must complete the qualification process specific to each Project you apply for.
Senscient Labs reserves the right to decline or revoke any application at its sole discretion.

3. Account registration

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must provide accurate, current, and complete information at registration and keep it updated. You may not transfer your account to any third party. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information.

4. Contributor obligations

All Submissions must be original, first-person captured content recorded by you personally at the time of the relevant Project.
You must not submit downloaded, stock, repurposed, or third-party content as your own.
You must not submit content that includes identifiable individuals who have not provided written consent, or any content involving minors.
You must follow the technical and operational requirements specified in each Project brief.
You must complete the per-Project Contributor Agreement and Participant Consent Form before submitting to any Project.
You are responsible for ensuring your recording environment does not contain private or sensitive information of third parties.

5. Content and intellectual property

Subject to the per-Project Contributor Agreement, by submitting content to the Platform you grant Senscient Labs a worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and create derivative works of the Submission for the purposes of the relevant Project. Specific IP assignment terms are set out in each Project's Contributor Agreement. You warrant that you own or have the right to grant these rights and that your Submissions do not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.

6. Review, acceptance, and payment

Submissions are subject to a two-tier review process. Tier 1 reviews technical validity and may edit submissions to remove extraneous content. Compensation is based on accepted duration after editing, not submitted duration. Tier 2 reviews content integrity at the dataset level. Payment is only released after both tiers pass and the Ops lead approves the payment batch. Senscient Labs reserves the right to withhold payment for Submissions that breach these Terms or the applicable Project agreement.

7. Fraud and enforcement

Submission of non-original, duplicated, or fraudulent content constitutes a material breach of these Terms. Senscient Labs operates a three-strike enforcement policy: (1) first breach — formal written warning; (2) second breach — suspension from the Project; (3) third breach — account termination and non-payment for all flagged Submissions. Senscient Labs reserves the right to skip to termination for serious breaches.

8. Prohibited conduct

Uploading content you did not personally capture.
Submitting duplicate content across sessions or accounts.
Filming identifiable persons without their written consent.
Filming children under any circumstances.
Circumventing the qualification or review process.
Creating multiple accounts to increase submission volume.
Interfering with Platform operations or other Contributors.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Senscient Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability in connection with any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount paid to you in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate the contributor relationship at any time. Senscient Labs may immediately suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, fraud, or conduct prejudicial to the integrity of any Project. Upon termination, you retain no right to access the Platform and all outstanding payment obligations are subject to review.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore, except where mandatory local consumer law provides otherwise.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified by email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance. Where a Project agreement conflicts with these Terms, the Project agreement prevails for that Project.

Senscient Labs Pte. Ltd. ("Senscient Labs", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, transfer, and protect your personal data when you use the TaskAlpha™ platform. It applies to all Contributors and applicants globally and complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA), and other applicable data protection laws.

1. Data controller

Senscient Labs Pte. Ltd. is the data controller for personal data processed through the Platform. Flipside Digital Content Company, Inc. ("Flipside AI") acts as data processor on behalf of Senscient Labs. Contact: privacy@taskalpha.io.

3. Legal basis for processing (GDPR Article 6)

We rely on the following legal bases to process your personal data:

Contract performance (Article 6(1)(b)): Processing necessary to administer your contributor account, manage Project assignments, process payments, and fulfil our obligations to you.
Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): Fraud prevention, duplicate detection, dataset integrity protection, contributor behavior monitoring, and platform security.
Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)): Compliance with applicable tax, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
Consent (Article 6(1)(a)): Where we rely on consent for specific processing activities (such as optional marketing communications), you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

4. Special categories of data

We do not intentionally collect special category data (Article 9 GDPR). However, video submissions may incidentally capture biometric data (faces, voices) of the Contributor or third parties in the recording environment. You are responsible for ensuring third parties in your recordings have provided informed consent. If you believe your submissions contain inadvertent special category data, contact privacy@taskalpha.io immediately.

6. International data transfers

Senscient Labs is incorporated in Singapore. Your personal data may be transferred to and processed in Singapore and other countries where our service providers operate, including countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where such transfers occur from the EEA or UK, we ensure adequate safeguards are in place, including:

Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
Adequacy decisions where applicable
Binding Corporate Rules where implemented

For transfers from Singapore, we comply with the PDPA's cross-border transfer obligations and ensure recipient jurisdictions provide comparable protection. You may request details of the safeguards in place by contacting privacy@taskalpha.io.

7. Data sharing and recipients

We share your personal data only as necessary:

Flipside AI (Flipside Digital Content Company, Inc.): Our operations processor — manages contributor onboarding, QC, and program administration under a Data Processing Agreement.
Payment processors: Wise, PayPal, GCash, Maya, or your chosen bank — for payment processing only. Governed by their respective privacy policies.
Project clients: Anonymised or aggregated dataset outputs only — no personal contributor data is shared with Project clients.
Legal and regulatory authorities: Where required by law, court order, or regulatory request.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

8. Retention

Account and identity data: Retained for the duration of your active contributor status plus 7 years for legal and financial compliance purposes.
Submission data and video files: Retained for the duration of the relevant Project plus any period required under the Project agreement with the client.
Payment records: Retained for 7 years in compliance with financial and tax regulations.
Application data (rejected applicants): Retained for 12 months then deleted.
Fraud and integrity records: Retained for 3 years after account closure to protect against repeated policy violations.

9. Your rights

Depending on your country of residence, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right of access (GDPR Art. 15 / PDPA): Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to rectification (GDPR Art. 16): Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to erasure (GDPR Art. 17): Request deletion of your data where there is no legitimate reason for us to continue holding it.
Right to restriction (GDPR Art. 18): Request restriction of processing in certain circumstances.
Right to data portability (GDPR Art. 20): Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Right to object (GDPR Art. 21): Object to processing based on legitimate interests, including profiling.
Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.
Rights under CCPA (California residents): Right to know, delete, opt-out of sale (we do not sell data), and non-discrimination.
Rights under LGPD (Brazil residents): Rights of access, correction, anonymisation, deletion, and portability.
Rights under PDPA (Thailand / Singapore): Rights of access, correction, and withdrawal of consent.

To exercise any of these rights, contact: privacy@taskalpha.io. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (for EEA residents, the supervisory authority in your member state; for UK residents, the Information Commissioner's Office).

10. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include: access controls and authentication, encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, audit logging of data access, and regular security assessments. In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and relevant supervisory authorities as required by applicable law.

11. Automated decision-making

We use automated technical validation to check qualification videos against objective criteria (resolution, fps, duration, orientation). This automated check does not make final acceptance decisions — all applications are also subject to human review. You may request human review of any automated decision that affects you by contacting privacy@taskalpha.io.

12. Children

The Platform is not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, contact privacy@taskalpha.io immediately.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email at least 14 days before taking effect. The current version and its effective date are always displayed at the top of this page.

Data Processing Agreement

This Data Processing Agreement ("DPA") forms part of the contributor relationship between you and Senscient Labs Pte. Ltd. and supplements the Privacy Policy. It governs the processing of your personal data in compliance with GDPR Article 28, the Singapore PDPA, and applicable data protection law.

1. Parties and roles

Data Controller: Senscient Labs Pte. Ltd., Singapore — determines the purposes and means of processing your personal data.
Data Processor: Flipside Digital Content Company, Inc. ("Flipside AI") — processes personal data on behalf of Senscient Labs under a separate Controller-Processor agreement.
Data Subject: You, the Contributor or applicant.

2. Subject matter and nature of processing

Senscient Labs processes your personal data for the purposes of: contributor onboarding and identity verification; Project assignment and management; quality control review of Submissions; fraud prevention and dataset integrity; payment processing and financial compliance; and platform operation and improvement.

3. Categories of personal data processed

As detailed in the Privacy Policy: identity and contact data; financial and payment data; technical and device data; environment profile data; video Submissions and associated metadata; and qualification and review data.

4. Sub-processors

Senscient Labs engages the following categories of sub-processors:

Flipside AI — contributor programme operations and QC management
Cloud infrastructure providers — hosting, storage, and database services (details available on request)
Payment processors — Wise, PayPal, GCash, Maya, and SWIFT banking network as applicable to your chosen method
Communication services — email delivery and notification services

All sub-processors are bound by data processing terms no less protective than this DPA. We will notify you of material changes to our sub-processor list at least 14 days in advance.

5. International transfers

Your personal data may be transferred to Singapore and other jurisdictions as described in the Privacy Policy. For EEA/UK data subjects, transfers are made under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) adopted by the European Commission (Commission Decision 2021/914). For Singapore residents, transfers comply with the PDPA's cross-border transfer framework. You may request a copy of the applicable transfer mechanism by contacting privacy@taskalpha.io.

6. Security measures

Senscient Labs and Flipside AI implement the following technical and organisational measures (TOMs):

Encryption of personal data in transit (TLS 1.2 or higher) and at rest (AES-256 or equivalent)
Access controls based on the principle of least privilege
Multi-factor authentication for platform access by staff
Audit logging of access to personal data
Regular security assessments and penetration testing
Incident response procedures and breach notification processes
Staff training on data protection obligations

7. Data subject rights

To exercise your rights under GDPR, PDPA, or applicable local law — including rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection — contact: privacy@taskalpha.io. We will acknowledge requests within 72 hours and respond in full within 30 days (extendable by a further 60 days for complex requests, with notice).

8. Breach notification

In the event of a personal data breach, Senscient Labs will: notify relevant supervisory authorities within 72 hours where required under GDPR Article 33; notify affected data subjects without undue delay where the breach poses a high risk to rights and freedoms; document all breaches in an internal breach register.

9. Retention and deletion

Data is retained as specified in the Privacy Policy Section 8. Upon expiry of the retention period, or upon verified request for erasure, personal data is securely deleted or anonymised. Backups are purged on the same schedule as primary data.

Used for fraud detection, abuse prevention, and geolocation cross-checking at application. These are strictly necessary for the integrity of the contributor application process. Legal basis: legitimate interests.

3. Third-party cookies

We do not use third-party advertising or marketing cookies. We do not allow third-party advertising networks to set cookies on the Platform. Any third-party services we use (e.g. analytics) are subject to our data processing requirements and may not use data collected on our Platform for their own purposes.

4. Managing cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from using the Platform. For other cookie categories, you can manage your preferences through our cookie settings panel. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.

We may update this policy as our use of cookies changes. Material changes will be notified through the Platform.
